ADNAN KULENOVIC
Ph.D. Comp. Sci.

Adnan Kulenovic is  Principal Scientist.

​Since 2001 Adnan has been providing IT services to the Governments of Ontario and Government Canada as the lead architect on several business-critical projects. In these projects, Adnan designed innovative solutions based on the latest information technologies. He also worked as an Enterprise, Data, and Solution Architect for various private sector organizations, including Oracle and IBM.

 

​As a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Sarajevo and Marmara University, Istanbul, he delivered undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Software Engineering and Database Management. In addition, he published a book on compiler design and managed several research projects on advanced database management systems. His Ph.D. thesis introduced an original method for recursive optimization of SQL queries.

 

​The current research of Dr. Adnan Kulenovic is related to applying machine learning methods in Medical Informatics and Precision Medicine.

AZRA LAGUMDZIJA - KULENOVIC
Ph.D. Comp. Sci.

Azra Lagumdzija- Kulenovic is Lead Scientist.  

 

As a Data Architect at the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI), she designed several standard data architectures and models used in Canadian Health Informatics, such as the Canadian versions of HL7 RIM and ICD-10/11.  Azra was also a Canadian voting member of the HL7 International committee.

Her Ph.D. thesis introduced a data model and language that integrates the Frame-Based and Rule-Based Knowledge paradigms in Artificial Intelligence with Semantic Relational Data Models. Additionally, as a visiting scholar, Azra taught several Computer Science courses at Marmara University in Istanbul.

 

Her latest two research projects focus on the genetic causes of multiple diseases and the optimization of personalized therapies.
